Giant Eagle encourages shoppers to use reusable bags — but not for stealing.
A Norton Road Giant Eagle employee called Stow Police Nov. 10 because a woman pushed a cart full of merchandise out of the store without paying for it.
The employee said he saw the woman put several items in reusable bags in her cart and leave the store.
The miscellaneous grocery items totaled $165. According to the report, the suspect is a 31-year-old Hudson City School employee.
Theft, in this situation, is a first-degree misdemeanor.
