Report: Body of Missing Kent Sailor Possibly Spotted

Adam Molai has been missing since a June 17 rafting trip on the Kings River in California

A California newspaper is reporting that the body of a missing Kent man who disappeared during a rafting trip in California may have been spotted.

The Hanford Sentinel reported this afternoon that "a possible sighting along the Kings River near Riverdale has renewed efforts to recover the body of Lemoore sailor Adam Molai."

Molai, 23, a former Kent resident and Field High School graduate, is stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore and fell into the river during a rafting trip with eight other sailors.

The Sentinel reported that someone possibly spotted his body just before noon today in the water near the river's north fork.

Public Information Officer Chris Curtice with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office told the Hanford Sentinel they are doubling efforts to scour that area with helicopter assistance and aid from the Kings County Sheriff’s Office Water Rescue Unit.
