Prison Sentence for Kent Woman who Sexually Assaulted Teen Boy

A 37-year-old Kent woman pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a male juvenile family member.

Nichole R. Metzler was sentenced by a Portage County judge to 16 months in prison after pleading guilty in March to a felony count of gross sexual imposition.

The child, who was 15 at the time, was under her care. Metzler pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with the male juvenile family member.

Metzler, 37, of 143 S. Prospect St. must register as a Tier I sex offender annually for the next 15 years. She was also fined $350 and ordered to have no contact with the victim, according to court records.

"This is one of the most egregious cases of this type I've ever seen," Portage County Common Pleas Judge Laurie Pittman said during sentencing, according to this Record-Courier story
