Police Open House, Issue 4 Forum is Tuesday

Police to give tours of facility, equipment and answer questions about upcoming tax proposal

The Kent Police Department will open its doors Tuesday as part of an open house forum to talk to residents about Issue 4, a proposed 0.25 percent income tax increase on the November ballot.

City officials placed the tax issue on the ballot so that, if approved, the estimated $1.4 million in annual revenue it would generate could be used to build a new police station.

The open house is from 5 to 7 p.m. and will be followed by a public forum presented by Kent Police Chief Michelle Lee and Kent City Manager Dave Ruller.
