Police: Couple Left 3-Year-Old Home Alone

A Kent couple has pleaded not guilty to charges of leaving a 3-year-old girl home alone.

Kent Police arrested Elizabeth J. Sanderson, 24, and Trevor S. Thompson, 25, both of 1846 Mohican Place, Jan. 19 and charged them both with one count of child endangering, a first-degree misdemeanor.

The boyfriend and girlfriend were charged with leaving Thompson's daughter home alone for an extended period of time, according to Portage County court records.

Police allege that both Sanderson and Thompson were found drunk by officers.

Each entered pleas of not guilty in Portage County Municipal Court Judge Barb Oswick's courtroom Thursday.

Both were released from jail on personal recognizance bonds. Thompson's release stipulated that he have no contact with his daughter unless approved by the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services, according to court records.

Thompson and Sanderson are scheduled for pretrial hearings on the charges Monday in Oswick's courtroom.
