Drunk 'drive-thru' arrest

A North Royalton man trying to order from a drive-thru without a car was arrested and charged with underage drinking.

Kent police charged Scott M. Taylor, 20, with prohibitions, a first-degree misdemeanor, after Taylor tried to order at the drive-thru by walking to the service window, according to a police report.

Employees told Taylor the drive-thru is for cars only and said he had to leave, but Taylor returned a short time later and tried to order again by knocking on the drive-thru window, according to a police report. He was arrested shortly after 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 27.

Kent State student charged with burglary

Kent police charged a student with burglary Friday, Feb. 25.

Jordan V. Falk, 23, of 1671 Franklin Ave., was arrested and charged at about 5 a.m. Feb. 23 with a fourth-degree felony burglary charge. Falk was released Friday on a personal recognizance bond.

A preliminary court hearing is set for Friday.

3 men charged with theft, burglary

A man from Atwater Township and a second from Alliance were arrested at Plum Creek Park and charged with theft Feb. 18.

Douglas J. Calvano, 59, of Alliance, and Christopher G. Henderson, 25, of Atwater, were charged with theft, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of criminal tools, also a fifth-degree felony, according to Kent police reports.

Five days later, police arrested a homeless man and charged him with burglary and theft, both fifth-degree felonies.

Gregory P. Habowski Jr., 21, told police he was homeless but gave a Ravenna address when arrested Feb. 23.

String of thefts in 3 days

Several thefts were reported across the city Feb. 17, 18 and 19.

An Akron Boulevard resident reported $400 worth of jewelry stolen Feb. 17. The victim reported stolen a heart-shaped silver ring with six to eight diamonds and a class ring with a sapphire stone with "Steph" carved on one side and "2000" carved on the other, according to a Kent police report.

More than $500 in electronics and other goods were reported stolen in the 200 block of East Main Street Feb. 18. The victim reported stolen a black LG Verizon Droid phone, a pink Vera Bradley wristlet and a Mark Jacobs handbag.

A car delivery sign was reported stolen in the 1500 block of Whitehall Boulevard Feb. 19. The sign is valued at $200, according to a police report.

Prescription drugs, gift cards and a handbag were reported stolen in the 1600 block of South Water Street Feb. 19. The victim told police multiple gift cards, a Liz Claiborne purse and prescription Adderall and Xanax were all stolen. The items were valued at more than $400.

A Garmin GPS, multiple credit cards and a Juicy Couture wallet, all valued at about $200, were reported stolen Feb. 19 in the 900 block of Stein Court.
