Police Blotter: Electronics Still Popular with Thieves

The following arrest information was provided by the Kent Police Department. It does not indicate conviction.

Thieves continue to target electronic devices — big and small — for theft throughout the city of Kent.

  • A 52-inch Sanyo flat-screen TV was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Elm Street on Sept. 25 along with a Nintendo Wii with two controllers, miscellaneous DVDs and five pairs of Air Jordan tennis shoes. The goods stolen were all valued at more than $1,700 total.
  • A Macbook laoptop was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of South Water Street Sept. 20. The laptop computer is valued at $1,000.
  • A Droid X cell phone was reported stolen from an address in the 1400 block of Horning Road Sept. 17 along with a clutch purse and sunglasses. The phone and other items were valued at more than $600.
  • An Apple laptop with a 17-inch screen was reported stolen from an address in the 200 block of North Water Street Sept. 17. The computer is valued at $400.
