Police Blotter: Cafe Robbed, More Electronics Thefts

The following arrest information was provided by the Kent Police Department. It does not indicate conviction.

Cafe robbed

was robbed of about $100 cash earlier this month.

The North Water Street business reported being broken into Aug. 15 and the money, in miscellaneous bills, stolen.

More electronics thefts

Electronics continue to be a target for thieves in the Kent area.

More than $800 in electronics were reported stolen from an address in the 1500 block of Benjamin Court Aug. 17. The goods stolen included a 32- inch Emerson flat-screen TV, a cable box, a Garmin Nuvi 1400 GPS, an HP laptop, a Magnavox DVD player and a jewelry box filled with miscellaneous jewelry.

A black iPhone with a black cover was stolen from an address in the 100 block of West Main Street on Aug. 13. The phone and cover were valued at $350.

A 24-inch Sanyo flat-screen TV was reported stolen in the 1500 block of Franklin Ave. Aug. 11. The TV was valued at $185.

73-year-old drunk driver

A 73-year-old Munroe Falls man was arrested on charges of drunk driving on the Kent Auto Mile earlier this month.

Kenneth E. Fry was stopped just before midnight on Aug. 16 near the intersection of West Main Street and Stonewater Drive for speeding.

Fry, a retired Ford employee, refused a Breathalyzer test. He was charged with speeding, a minor misdemeanor, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a first-degree misdemeanor, and refusing a Breathalyzer test, also a first-degree misdemeanor.
