PHOTOS: Kent Firefighters' Search of the Cuyahoga River

Schoolchildren reported seeing someone swept away by the rushing water Wednesday afternoon

A search of the Cuyahoga River turned up just a piece of clothing Wednesday after a report someone was swept away by the rushing waters in downtown Kent.

Members of the Kent fire and police departments spent about two hours searching the river and its banks after schoolchildren reporting seeing a black male in the rapids shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Initially, members of the Portage County Water Rescue Team planned to return to the river today to continue the search, after being unable to determine if someone actually fell in through interviewing the children.
