No Charges Filed in Evacuation, Bath Salts Arrest

25-year-old drunk, high on bath salts not facing charges

No charges have been filed against a 25-year-old man who caused a stir at an Athena Drive apartment Monday afternoon.

Kent police responded to reports of a suicidal male at 1665 Athena Drive just before 5 p.m. Monday. The unidentified man reportedly had a gun, according to Kent police.

Police talked him into surrendering and agreeing to be taken to Robinson Memorial Hospital to be evaluated, but not before police secured and evacuated the area around the apartment. The apartment is located among several apartment complexes near the campus.

The man admitted to police he had been snorting bath salts, drinking alcohol excessively and contemplating suicide.
