It's a bad idea to grow marijuana illegally, but having a child in the home at the time is worse.

A neighbor, concerned about the 10-year-old child living in a Kent home with two men, reported their concerns about the child, prompting an investigation, according to our partners at WEWS NewsChannel 5.

The Portage County Drug Task Force got a search warrant and searched the Kent home Tuesday. They have charged Shawn Mitchell and Michael Genovese with illegally growing marijuana in the vicinity of a juvenile, according to NewsChannel 5.

When searching the basement of the home, the task force confiscated 80 marijuana plants worth $80,000 and other materials used to grow marijuana plants indoors. The Portage County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing the case and may file additional charges.

Here's some hints that your neighbor might be growing marijuana.

Wow more "horrible" drugs off streets, big deal.

Great to have a bunch of strung-out zombies sitting in classrooms, not to mention robberies and burglaries for drug money. Yes, drugs, including marijuana, are a big deal. I'm sure you know someone who died of a drug overdose, don't you. Yes you do. I do not know anyone who uses more potent drugs that didn't start with marijuana when they were teen-agers. I would never vote for a judge who didn't sentence a drug pusher to prison time.

You can debate about pot all day, but it comes down to the fact that it is illegal, and $80,000 worth sounds like more than personal use. A poor example to set for a young child.

I do know someone that died of drug overdose. It's very sad. My cousin took 9 whole marijuanas in under 2 hours and was pronounced DOA at the hospital. It's a sad dangerous lifestyle. Every time he injected marijuana with those dirty shared pot needles, he was playing Russian Roulette. And he knew that too. I guess it wasn't enough to scare him away from his pot addiction. RIP Daniel

Pot, the most evilest drug EVER! Now that is funny and a waste of time for the tax payers money to bust and the drug task force as well.
