Man Robbed on Campus During Halloween

Kent Police still processing arrests from Saturday

A man was reportedly robbed on the Kent State University campus Saturday night as thousands of people flocked to the city to celebrate Halloween.

The victim was walking on the Esplanade at 1:30 a.m. Sunday when he "was punched in the face and robbed by four black males," according to a post on the university's advisory page.

The robbery happened near Hilltop Drive. The four suspects fled east, according to the university.

Downtown, the Kent Police Department was still processing the people who were arrested in the city this weekend at 11 a.m. Sunday.

The total number of those arrested was unavailable.

In 2011, Kent Police arrested 21 people during the annual, unofficial Halloween bash downtown. And campus police arrested 53 people.

In 2010, Kent police arrested 47 people on charges ranging from underage drinking to disorderly conduct.
