Man Commits Suicide on Train Tracks in Kent

Keith Painter found with self-inflicted gunshot wound Sunday morning

The body of a Streetsboro man was found in Kent Sunday morning following an apparent suicide.

CSX Transportation Co. employees called the and reported seeing a man injured near the railroad trestle by the Cuyahoga River near Mogadore Road and Cherry Street, according to Kent police.

Officers responded and found the body of Keith Painter, 44, just before 10 a.m. Sunday. Painter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police. A revolver was found near the body.

Painter was listed as missing with the Streetsboro Police Department at 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Streetsboro police were told then he was possibly suicidal and possibly armed.
