Man Charged in Stabbing Death

Kent police have charged a Kent man with the , who was found stabbed to death June 6 in his Lawrence Court apartment.

Leonard J. Armstrong, 49, of 112 Sherman St., was charged today in Sipes' death.

Sipes, 57, was found in his apartment at 933 Lawrence Court. He lay dead inside for less than a day, according to the Portage County Coroner's Office.

Police released little information this afternoon other than to announce they had arrested Armstrong.

Sipes was found through by someone who called police concerned about his whereabouts.
