Kent State Football Player Suspended for Reported Assault

C.J. Steward has been fired from his job, charged and indefinitely suspended from the Golden Flashes for allegedly assaulting a woman.

A Kent State football player has been suspended indefinitely from the team for allegedly grabbing a co-worker by the arm, pushing her into a door and damaging her TV, kentwired.com reports.

Senior linebacker C.J. Steward was arrested Feb. 15 and has been charged with misdemeanor assault and property damage.

The brief scuffle reportedly occurred at The Province apartments -- located at 609 S. Lincoln St. -- and Steward has been fired for his alleged connection to the incident.
