Elderly Kent Driver Strikes Woman, Hospitalizes Her

A 20-year-old Fairview Park woman was taken to Robinson Memorial Hospital Tuesday after rolling off the hood of a moving car.

A 20-year-old Fairview Park woman was hospitalized at 12:09 p.m. Tuesday after being struck by an elderly driver on Summit Street.

According to Kent Police Lt. Jim Prusha, the 71-year-old Kent woman was driving eastbound on Summit and hit the young woman while turning into the Hickory Mills Apartments.

The woman was taken to Robinson Memorial Hospital and suffered what appeared to be minor injuries, according to the Kent Fire Department.

"The accident is under investigation until (a Kent police) officer is able to speak with the pedestrian," said Prusha.
