Donate Toys at Kent Fire Stations

Toys, gift cards accepted for families in need

Two Kent fire stations have been designated as drop-off sites for toys and gift cards for Kent Social Services.

, located at 320 S. Depeyster St., and the , at the corner of North Mantua Street and Rockwell Avenue are accepting toys for families in need this holiday season. The stations are manned 24, 7 and items may be dropped off any time.

Kent Social Services is in need of toys and gift cards for local families this Christmas season.

“The need has increased significantly," said Christie Andersen, manager of Kent Social Services. " We are seeing about a 15 percent increase over last year in the number of families with children registering for the holiday distribution.”

If you would like to support a family this Christmas season, donations of toys or gift cards can also be dropped off by Dec. 5 at Kent Social Services at 1066 S. Water St. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday, 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
