Deadly Fire Leads to Homicide Charge for Kent Man

Brian L. Grodzik charged in 2011 fire at Sheffield Condominiums

A Kent man has been charged following the 2011 fire that , the Record-Courier is reporting.

Brian L. Grodzik, 55, of Kent, was indicted Monday by a Portage County grand jury on a charge of wreckless homicide, according to the Record-Courier.

Grodzik's wife, Linda L. Palmisano, died in September 2011 after an early morning fire at their first-floor apartment in .

The fire started in the living room, which was completely destroyed in the blaze, according to the Ohio Fire Marshal's Office.

Grodzik escaped the fire without injury.
