Wouldn't it be wonderful if the city emptied the trash cans, especially those along the river walk?  They are over flowing.  Don't forget about the rest of Kent.  There is more to it than just downtown.

It would be nice. Speaking of trash, I just received my first bill from Republic since R & R Sanitation sold out to them. I thought it was interesting my first bill includes under "Important Information" "YOUR NEXT NOTICE MAY REFLECT A PRICE INCREASE". Since the city mandates who we have for trash service aren't they locking in rates to help (lol) the residents of Kent?

http://www.kent360.com/city-services/new-trash-service On the negative side, some folks have expressed concerns over losing their right to choose their own trash hauler. Under the citywide scenario people would indeed lose that choice. Then the article blah-blahs about police and fire protection, as if they are at all related to trash hauling services.
