Anne Langstaff, 85, of Kent was Voracious Reader

Langstaff died March 12 at the Woodlands at Robinson

Anne F. Langstaff, 85, of Kent, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Woodlands at Robinson.

She was born March 15, 1925, in Cleveland, to Albert L. and Helen (Crawford) Federman.  She was a longtime resident of Chagrin Falls, where she was a 58-year member of the Federated Church.  She volunteered and participated in the Elder Life Program. Anne was a member of the Chagrin Falls Park Community Center Board.  Anne and her husband were co-directors the Chagrin Falls Adult Education Program and Great Books.  She moved to Kent in 2002.  She was a voracious reader.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Langstaff of Kent; daughter, Ellen (Bob) Bissett-Kemper of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren, William Bissett of Rockland, MA, Heather Bissett of St. Augustine, FL, Sam Langstaff of Kent and Ben Langstaff of Kent; friends, Angel Quatraro of Kent, Terri McGuckin of Kent and Jane Gwinn of Kent.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Langstaff, in 1988.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caregivers for their loving care, Connie Workman, the staff of Home Instead Senior Care, the staff at the Woodlands, Robinson Visiting Nurse and Hospice, the Kent Fire Department, and especially Dr. Ashraf Elguizaou of Visiting Physicians.

Calling hours to celebrate her life and death will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 at in Kent, where services will be held at 7 p.m. with the Rev. David Pattee officiating.  Memorial services will also be held at 1 p.m. Friday March 18 at the Federated Church, 76 Bell Street, Chagrin Falls, with the Rev. Mark Simone and Roy Nichols officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Kent Lions Club, care of James Benedict, 1443 River Park Drive, Kent, OH 44240.
