One of my favorite things on Earth is cooking with fresh, local ingredients – from my garden, from the farmers market, or from a local farm stand.
At first, shopping at the market means keeping my eyes open to what's available and then planning meals around the seasonal ingredients, but after a bit, the rhythm sets in and I can plan my favorite dishes in advance, and I arrive at the market with a shopping list. Over the years, one begins to remember what's coming and the anticipation is a beautiful thing.
I'm ridiculously excited about the blueberries right now. Here's my favorite Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake Recipe, from Epicurious.com, which is my go-to dessert contribution to summer potlucks.
