Beautiful Day to Beautify Kent

On Saturday, April 27th, from 9am to 1pm, people from the Kent community came together to do a major spring clean up in the downtown area.

On Saturday, April 27th, from 9am to 1pm, people from the Kent community came together to do a major spring clean up in the downtown area. Main Street Kent board member Sue Whiting purchased most of the supplies for the clean up day as a donation to Main Street Kent. Sue is the chair of the Design Committee, and has always had a passion for cleaning up the downtown.

Dust pans, brooms, trash bags, bins, rubber gloves, and vacuums were all used to make a big dent in the litter scattered throughout area sidewalks, gardens, alleys, stairwells, and the general area. Tree grates were cleared of litter and filled with gravel, gum was scraped from trash can lids...and now Kent is ready for spring to stay!

A giant THANK YOU to all who came out to help!

It was a good day to do better for our public places & spaces, making Downtown Kent the best it can be!... The team commitment was noticeable, fun, and one could depart knowing it would always be a treat to return to our improved & exciting Kent...
