$500 in Downtown Kent Gift Certificates will go to 1 Lucky Kent State Freshman!
Students will be shuttled downtown from campus on Lolley the Trolley to do a little exploring. One lucky student will go home with a pot of gold!
Saturday, Aug. 25, is the annual "" welcome event for incoming Kent State University freshmen. From 11am to 3pm, East Main Street will be closed from Water to Depeyster streets, and students will be shuttled down from campus on Lolley the Trolley to do a little exploring. One lucky student will go home with a pot of gold!
The Kent Area Chamber of Commerce will provide students with free hot dogs, snacks and water, while local businesses and organizations will line the street with booths, showcasing their products and services.
Main Street Kent will host its second annual Scavenger Hunt. Students will be provided a list of 10 local businesses, and a question to be answered for each one. They must go to each business to figure out the answer. A winner will be selected from all entries, and if all answers are correct, he or she will receive $500 in gift certificates to downtown Kent businesses! (Note: Kent State student ID must be presented to be the winner.)
