NAMI Portage Walk for Recovery

Family and friends of people with mental illness will walk in Kent to raise awareness about the stigma and barriers that people with the illnesses and their families face. The two-mile event is also a fundraiser for NAMI Portage County which provides support and education. There is no registraion fee. Thanks to our presenting sponsor: The Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation and additional supporters: Coleman Professional Services, International Chemical Workers Union, Omnova Solutions, David Brokaw and Children's Advantage! All funds stay in Portage County. NAMI PC is an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raising awareness and building a community of hope for all of those in need. For more information about the walk, call the Mental Health & Recovery Board at 330-673-1756 or go to www.namiportagecounty.org.
