Community Corner

Family Fun Fitness Event

Welcome Everyone!

This event's main focus is for communities and families to experience fitness in a fun way. We want to stress local business involvement in the community.  We will be hosting 2 rides that day. The first is a road ride, that leaves from Portage Cyclery, and the second is a family friendly trail ride, that starts and ends at Beckwith's Orchards (1617 Lake Rockwell Rd  Kent, OH 44240). Both rides will start at 10am and meet back at the Portage Cyclery for food, music, and fun.

We will have Pete Mahoney of Kent State University and Scott Lazzara of Portage County Job and Family Services that will be present and accepting "Bikes for Kids" donations. We have food that is being donated and RWB (a program for veterans) will be providing people to lead the rides. Kent Parks and Recreation, Portage Park District, Beckwith's Orchards, and Ravenna Parks and Recreation will all be present and aiding the cause.

We look forward to seeing you there and please spread the word. The more bikes we can get the more kids we can get healthy and happy. If you can not make it please visit bfk.eventbrite.com and donate. Our goal is over 150 bikes by Christmas time. This is only possible with the communities help and involvement.

THANKS ALL!
