Get ready for drama, dancing, and dining from other parts of the world at Passport to the Arts, a new summer camp being offered June 24, 2013 through July 19, 2013 at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT.
Campers in grades 1-2 (as of September 2013) will be part of an artistic journey, as they experience and explore different cultures and art forms in Passport to the Arts. Children will be introduced to the arts by acting out stories, working on simple costumes and scenery. Campers will also participate in international dance, and sharpen the culinary skills through cooking. Passports will be stamped as campers “travel” to different countries and cultures.
Passport to the Arts is a full-day camp option that also includes yoga, swimming, and playtime outside and on the indoor playscape, as well as snacks and Shabbat (Sabbath) on Fridays.
The Mandell Jewish Community Center is open to everyone and supported by funds raised by the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, a recipient of funding from the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford, and a member of the JCC Association of North America.
