Some Kent residents might assume their city unpatriotic due to a lack of American flags on the Main Street Bridge — typically a summer staple decoration for the span — but that's not the case.
The city installed brand new flags on the bridge just before Memorial Day this year, but the flags have since been stolen.
Kent City Manager Dave Ruller said the city has ordered replacement flags.
"But we're also looking at what we can do to better secure them in order to discourage a repeat performance," Ruller said.
