Corrections and Clarifications

A summary of corrections and clarifications in the Kent Patch.

We take transparency seriously. We're committed to accuracy, to acknowledging our mistakes, and to fixing them as quickly as possible. Corrections are marked with an asterisk (*) in stories where errors have been fixed, accompanied by an editor's note in italics at the bottom of the story.

We do our best to get the facts right, but sometimes even Homer nods. If you see a factual error, tell us about it and we'll make sure we get it right.

Here are our recent mistakes:

- Correction: A story published July 6 incorrectly identified the victim of the April 19, 2012, crash on River Bend Boulevard who had to be flown by medical helicopter to an area hospital. The person flown was Becca Kluge.

- Correction: A story published June 6 incorrectly stated the longevity bonus for Kent State University President Lester Lefton as $95,000. The bonus is $90,000.

- Correction: A story published June 1 incorrectly stated the awards received by Kent Police K-9 officers.

- Clarification: A story published May 30, "Erie Street Closes Tuesday for the Summer," incorrectly stated the street would be closed to pedestrian traffic during its reconstruction. The article has been changed to correctly state pedestrian traffic will be maintained, and we've added a note to alert readers to the clarification.
