Best Place to Eat Breakfast: This Week's Readers' Choice

Your nominations wanted: Where do you like to go out to breakfast?

If you're going out to breakfast, you want to make the right choice. After all, it's the most important meal of the day.

You want a fluffy pancake, not a flat one. You want coffee immediately and plenty of it. You want your bacon cooked just right. And, of course, you want friendly service.

Beginning today -- Monday, March 26 and through 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 28 -- we'll be asking for your recommendations of the best places to take the family out to eat.

Give us your recommendation in the comments section below. With your help, we'll put together a list of nominees. Then look for our poll on Thursday, March 29 and vote! We'll select a winner at 5 p.m. March 30 and announce it in a story on Saturday, March 31.

In judging, we'll consider comments, poll votes and reviews in Patch Places, our complete directory of local businesses. Be sure to check out our contest rules in the PDF at right.

Wild Goats. A little pricey, but great atmosphere, great food choices, including fried cheese grits and parfait and yummy hot chocolate. Great wait staff.

I like Bob Evans. Despite the fact that it is a national chain restaurant, it is a great place to have breakfast...friendly staff, atmosphere, value, and really great pancakes!

Diggers has wonderful and reasonable prices. The service is great and you have a bottomless cup of coffee. They have a wonderful back section perfect for families too. The food is excellent too.

Not sure if outside Kent counts but "Yours Truly" in Hudson is #1 with me.

Wild Goats. Food is interesting and tasty, and the service is pretty good.

We limit our contest to Kent eateries, though all Patch sites are doing the same feature so feel free to visit other Patch communities and nominate your favorite place outside Kent.

I always loved Anthony's. family owned, very nice people. There are games and coloring books for children while they wait for their food. Anthony also sells small items up at the front by the register, and carries mugs and greeting cards crafted by the portage county MR/DD community, which I always found to be nice. he is involved with the community, and has a nice sized crowd of 'regulars'. good breakfasts for a good price, and friendly service.

I loooove Anthony's breakfast burritos! A huge burrito for five bucks. Includes veggies, egg, meat and cheese....or just veggies and eggs for non- meat eaters. I also love his multi-grain blueberry pancakes! Yum! Free refills on coffee! Different flavors on different days.
