Three Kent residents were arrested on charges of making and possessing methamphetamine, according to the Portage County Sheriff's Office.

Members of the Portage County Drug Task Force arrested Adam C. Ebel, 32, Stephanie Ebel, 52, and Rachel C. Gulakowski, 32, all of  916 W. Main St., at their residence Wednesday.

Adam Ebel was charged with: illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony; possession of chemicals for manufacturing drugs, a third-degree felony; and possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

Stephanie Ebel was charged with: illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony; possession of chemicals for manufacturing drugs, a third-degree felony; and possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

Gulakowski was charged with: possession of chemicals for manufacturing drugs, a third-degree felony; and possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

Portage County Sheriff David Doak said the task force executed a court-ordered search warrant on the residence and found numerous items used in making meth inside and in a nearby vacant building being used by the Ebels for storage.

Task force agents found an "undetermined amount of methamphetamine and heroin" along with syringes and other drug paraphernalia. A large number of unlicensed dogs also were found at the residence.

Doak said in a press release that the Kent Health Department condemned the residence, prohibiting occupancy, due to "deplorable living conditions."

Portage County Drug Task Force is made up of member agencies to include the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, Cities of Aurora, Kent, Ravenna and Streetsboro Police Department, Village of Garrettsville and Windham, U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Portage County Prosecutors Office.
