Flood Insurance Poll: Rebuild Homes in High-Risk Areas?

Do you approve of flood insurance, so that people can build, or re-build, homes in places that are likely to flood?

The Federal Flood Insurance Program is designed to make it financially possible for people to borrow money to build homes and other buildings in locations where there is a high likelihood that those buildings will be destroyed by severe weather events.

In this system, the taxpayers of the United States all contribute to pay for the homes of those who live close to sea shores and rivers, each time those homes are damaged by water.

After a catastrophic event, news media broadcast interviews with residents who say. "We have been flooded out before and we rebuilt, and we will rebuild again."
