Vote on Apartment Proposal for South Lincoln Moved to March 2

Kent City Council agreed to delay vote at developer's request

Residents of the South Lincoln neighborhood will have to wait until March 2 to learn if is coming to their neighborhood.

postponed a final vote Wednesday night at the request of Columbus developer Edwards Communities Development Company. The firm asked for the delay so the city's law director could review new information about the proposal.

The firm has requested council rezone about 10 acres of land from R-3 zoning to R-4, which permits more dense residential construction.

Council will hold a committee meeting to discuss the issue at 7 p.m. March 2 and then hold a special council meeting immediately afterward to act on whatever conclusion is reached in committee.
