Snapshot: First Unit at MAC Trailer's Kent Shop

The trailer company expanded into Kent this summer

The first trailer built in Kent by MAC Trailer rolled off the line Friday morning and was a cause for celebration by the plant's employees.

The company expects to employ about 250 people within 18 to 24 months. They already build trailers in Salem and Alliance. The company made the Kent expansion thanks to $5.7 million in state support.

Dan Smith, Kent's economic development director, said in an email the firm's investment represents the largest new industry move to Kent since Land O' Lakes moved to town in 1983.
