Progress at The Province

Buildings for new 596-bed student living community rising quickly on South Lincoln Street.

Construction is moving quickly on the new "The Province at Kent" student living community that is rising along South Lincoln Street near the campus.

The 596-bed project by Columbus developer Edwards Communities Development Corp. includes nine, three-story buildings plus a cluhouse and pool on about 10 acres on the east side of South Lincoln Street, south of Summit Street.

On the west side of Lincoln, the company has already constructed seven cottage-style rental units backed by a large open green space area that serves as a buffer to residential neighborhoods on its western border.

The developer plans to have the complex open by fall. A leasing trailer is open for business daily at the corner of Summit and Morris Road, allowing Kent State students to see floor plans, maps and more related to the new complex.

Andy Landgraf, leasing manager for The Province, invites area residents to stop by the leasing trailer to check out progress and plans for the student living community.
