Newdle Bar to Hold Job Fair Saturday

New downtown bar, eatery looking to hire 30 people to start

Kent jobseekers looking for restaurant and bar employment can start their search at a downtown job fair for Newdle Bar, a bar and restaurant set to open in the new Davey Tree Building.

The combination Asian restaurant and bar will hold open interviews and accept applications and resumés Saturday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the storefront at 295 S. Water St.

Josalyn Barton, manager for Newdle Bar, said they're looking to hire 30 people to start and potentially 10 more in the coming months. The bar is scheduled to open in early December.

"You can come in and almost like take a number," she said. "We’re going to do 10-minute interviews and collect resumés."

From there, Barton said management will schedule a secound round of interviews. The restaurant is hiring for servers, bartenders, doormen, bussers and dishwashers.

"We’ve got most of the kitchen staff handled," she said.

Barton said interested applicants should bring their resumé and fill out an application, which will be available at the storefront.

"We’re really excited about finally getting open here and to be a part of Kent’s community," she said.
