Chamber Names Tree City Award Winners

Recipients to be honored at annual dinner Nov. 15 at Laziza

The Kent Area Chamber of Commerce and City of Kent are proud to announce the winners of their respective annual Tree City Awards that will be given on Thursday, November 15th at Laziza's Restaurant.

The Chamber's awards include: IMMY award winners: Baked in The Village Café; Four Seasons Trophies and Kent Historical Society. The Small Business Person of the Year - William Perfect, Perfect Construction . The W.W. Reed Medal of Public Service winner: Paul Braden, owner of Woodsy's Music.

The City of Kent will present awards to College Town Kent Development, Record Publishing Company and Laziza Restaurant.

The event will include a silent auction and cocktails/appetizers starting at 6:30 pm, dinner at 7:00 pm, followed by the awards presentations at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $35. RSVPs are due no later than Monday, November 12th. Space is limited, so call the Chamber office at 330.673.9855 to reserve your ticket.

Gift cards in $15 increments will be accepted and given to Kent Social Services for distribution to families for the upcoming holiday season.

IMMY awards are given to publicly recognize quality businesses and/or individuals in the greater Kent area in support of economic retention, reinvestment and new facilities development.

The Small Business Person of the Year is presented to the small business person that exemplified the best of Kent's small enterprises (less than 30 employees).

W.W. Reed Kent Medal for Public Service is bestowed on individuals, institutions, or organizations whose community service has resulted in the advancement of the common good, promotion of public welfare, or stimulation of public service. It is the highest honor conferred by the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce.
