Crocuses in Kent; a Photo Story

I've wanted to get a photo of the sun rising over East Main Street, but it happens only a couple times a year, and the sky must be clear.

I rushed out of the house Monday in hopes of catching my special shot, but clouds intervened. Not one to let some errant clouds rain on my parade, I played with the composition and light of crocuses blooming under the First Christian Church's Peace Pole at the corner of Mantua and Main streets.

Here I'm looking across the river to East Main Street, which is the light gray area. The red and green spots are streetlights. The yellow spot is not the sun, however.  The old Kent Hotel rises above the horizon just right of center.

Often when I go looking for a certain shot, a different one finds me and I get to see familiar places in new ways.
