I couldn't help but throw my own picks in as a news editor who writes and reads for my livelihood. My picks are: Inner Circle, by Brad Meltzer. It's a good book if you want something light and easy to read with some intrigue and history, but it's not a must-read. For something more serious and insightful, go with Autobiography of Mark Twain, Volume 1.
