Kent State Grad 3rd Runner-Up in Miss Ohio Pageant

A grad fell short of winning the Miss Ohio title by three places.

Meggie Wittman, 22, of Cleveland, finished third runner-up in the Miss Ohio Pageant at the Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield Saturday. She won the preliminary swimsuit contest.

Wittman, who attended the Kent campus, graduated this spring with a degree in musical theater. This was her second year competing in the pageant. She placed in the top 10 in 2010.

Wittman said in a previous interview with Kent Patch training for such a pageant often takes a full year.

"A lot of people think we’re preparing for the pageant, but we’re just preparing for our lives, for being good, well-rounded girls,” she said.

Clayland Ellen Bryan, 22, from Celina, OH, won the title of Miss Ohio Saturday.
