Vegas Night & Black Squirrel Bingo (Kent State Students Only)

Where/When: , Friday Feb.11, 6 p.m. to Midnight

"Make Mine With Ice" Ice Carving Exhibition

Where/When: Home Savings Plaza (Corner of Water and Main St., Downtown Kent), Saturday Feb.12, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. 

Why Go: Embrace those icy temepratures and witness the unique artistry of ice sculpting. See the stuff you've been slipping on for months transformed into wonderful pieces of art by students and faculty of Kent State and The University of Akron at this annual event sponsored by Standing Rock Cultural Arts.

"Spread The Warmth" Knitting Marathon Fundraiser

Where/When: Standing Rock Cultural Arts Center, Saturday Feb. 12 and Feb. 13, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Experienced knitters and crocheters will be on hand to assist anyone wanting to participate. The group is accepting hats, scarfs and mittens for donations with proceeds going to a local homeless shelter as well as art and education programs for Standing Rock Cultural Arts.

Pricing: Donation Please.  

The Wailers (Bob Marley's former backing band)

Where/When: , Sunday Feb. 13, 8 p.m.

Why Go: The warm reggae sounds of this band will take you to the shores of Jamaica. Although Bob Marley is not around to lead them anymore, they still put on a great show.

Pricing: $28 at the door, 25 in advance, $20 with student ID.
