Reading: Botanical Essays from Kent

Join author Tom S. Cooperrider on the first floor of the Kent State University Library on Tuesday, April 17, at 2 PM for a reading and book signing. Cooperrider's recent book Botanical Essays from Kent, provides engaging botanical tales on the study and conservation of Ohio flora, the Herrick Magnolia Garden, work of other local botanists, the protection of rare species and unique areas, such as Kent’s tamarack bog, the discovery of lost plants, the survival of a famous cultivated tree, and the invasiveness of alien plant species.

A native Ohioan, Tom Cooperrider is a botanist, an expert on Ohio flora, and a professor emeritus of biological sciences at Kent State University.

Donald "Mack" Hassler, Roger Di Paolo, and Dianne Centa will read from Cooperrider's book, copies of which will be available for purchase and signing by the author. http://www.kentstateuniversitypress.com/2011/botanical-essays-from-kent/

The reading will be held on the first floor opposite the main entrance. Light refreshments will be served.
