Swans Cause Brief Stir on Fairchild Avenue

Two swans stopped traffic when they crossed the busy roadway

Traffic stopped briefly as two swans waddled across Fairchild Avenue this afternoon to make their way south towards the Lakes at Franklin Mills subdivision.

The birds solicited honks from drivers as they perched by the curb on the north side of the road seemingly contemplating their move. After a few minutes, one bird crossed and was followed by the other. Both birds made it safely across the road.

Their slow waddle may have perturbed a few motorists, who stopped to allow the swans to cross, but aside from the delay the birds didn't cause much of a ruckus.
