Kent Patch is Your Patch, So Get Involved

Take a look at our features that let you interact with the Kent community

New baby in the family? Want to rant (or express yourself thoughtfully) in a letter to the editor? Gushing over your student's good grades? Got a burning question about that big city project?

We're the place for you to talk up Kent and its residents (good or bad) and get the information you're looking for. And we've got a bunch of cool features to let you do it. And it's all  free!

Our site is user friendly, and we make it easy for you to share photos and information about an upcoming wedding, fundraiser or other important announcement.  Here are just some of the features you can use to interact with your community.

Announcements

Our Announcements Page is designed so you can easily upload photos and information about an important event in your life. So if your mom is celebrating her 90th birthday, or you just want to share the news about a newborn, you can do it — easily — with Kent Patch.

Events

Hosting a fundraiser for a friend or loved one in need isn't going to be helpful if no one knows about it. Maybe you're a support group and you want to let people know there is help. We can help you spread the word.

The Kent Patch Events Page gives you a number of free categories to choose from, whether it's a fair, a music concert, a fundraiser or an Ash Wednesday announcement. If it's happening in Kent, we want to help you spread the word.

Classifieds

If you're trying to sell a boat or looking to hire some employees, we can help you do it. Our Classifieds listing under the Marketplace Page gives you a number of options to choose from. You can upload your own color photos, write your own ad and post it live to the Kent Patch website. It's all within your power. You just have to agree to our terms of service.

Letters to the Editor

This one is self explanatory (we hope). If there's an issue around Kent that you've got an opinion on, share it with us. You can always comment on stories, but writing a letter to the editor sometimes is a better, and clearer, option.

Send your letters about Kent issues to Kent Patch Editor Matt Fredmonsky via e-mail at matt.fredmonsky@patch.com.

Q&A

Our last, and possibly neatest, feature is the Kent Patch Q&A. The Q&A section is your place to ask questions about events and people in Kent. So if you want to know when the new Fairchild Avenue Bridge is going to open, or how much Kent State University paid for a piece of land, you can ask it here and we'll answer it for you.

But it's not limited to big issues. If you're looking for a babysitter (and you can't find one in the Kent Patch classifieds) post the question here and someone in the community can always respond. It's an open forum, like all of Kent Patch, and we encourage everyone's participation.

Kent Patch is in fact your Patch. It's your source for all things Kent, from a complete local business directory to breaking news and opinions. If it's about Kent or happening here, you can find it on Kent Patch.
