Ice Sculptors Take Center Stage at Home Savings Plaza

The annual 'Make Mine With Ice' ice carving event sponsored by Standing Rock Cultural Arts took place Saturday in downtown Kent

Standing Rock Cultural Arts held the annual "Make Mine With Ice" ice carving event Saturday with participants from the and University of Akron sculpting teams.

The event is one of several sponsored by Standing Rock as part of the Downtown Innovative Community Events series.

The solid blocks of ice, transformed into sculptural masterpieces, remained long after the carvers stopped their chainsaws Saturday afternoon.

The sculptures were an interesting addition to the downtown nightlife Saturday, which was buzzing with couples and friends celebrating weekend.
