Honor Veterans in Kent with Your Ideas

Kent council is asking for public input on ways to honor the city's veterans and fallen soldiers

A committee formed to honor the city's veterans is asking the public for help.

Members of Kent City Council who recently formed the ad-hoc Veterans Memorial Committee will hold a public forum Wednesday, July 20, at 6 p.m. to explore ways to recognize fallen veterans and soldiers from Kent.

The committee, comprised of Kent City Council members Jack Amrhein, Erik Valenta and Kent Mayor Jerry Fiala, is encouraging the city's service groups, veteran's organizations and residents to offer suggestions.

The committee formed in June not long afer the , who died in May while serving in Afghanistan.
