Construction is ready to start on the new parking planned for the University Oaks Apartments, formerly Silver Oaks Place, on Rhodes Road.
The city issued a building permit recently for the complex to build its , which will add about 200 spaces for a total of about 530.
The owner of the complex, Capstone Development Corp., plans to add 51 spaces to the existing complex while building another 151 spaces on two off-site lots nearby.
Construction of the additional parking costs $486,000, according to Capstone's building permit.
