UPDATE: Be Prepared to Pay for PARTA Parking July 29

Rates go up to $5.

Editor's note: this story was updated with the correct date.

The first half hour is free, but after that the cost to park at the PARTA parking deck could go up to $5 as of July 29.

The rates that will go into effect:

  • First 30 min: FREE
  • 30 min. - 1 hour: $1
  • 1-1.5 hours: $2
  • 1.5-2 hours: $3
  • 2-3 hours: $4
  • 3-24 hours: $5
A lost ticket costs the maximum rate and the 24-hour period is reset at 4 a.m. There could also be special event rates that will be posted.

The rates were posted in Kent City Manager Dave Ruller's blog recently

"I figured it’s worth reminding everyone that the parking deck is one of a number of parking options that was built into the city’s overall downtown parking strategy," he wrote. "And it truly is a strategy, with rates and options set in a way that allows prospective parkers to match the price point with the level of access and convenience that they prefer."

Office and residential passes are available. Call 330-678-7745 for more information or read Ruller's entire blog.
