Community Corner

United for Good Mental Health!

Members and friends of the National Alliance on Mental Illness Portage County stepped off on a glorious September day for the second annual NAMI Walk for Recovery in Kent. The event raises funds and awareness for the local NAMI’s education programs and work in the community for persons with mental illness and their families. For the second year, the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation was the presenting sponsor. About 75 Portage County residents walked to show their support for local services, education programs, individuals with mental illness and families. Sponsors gathering for this photo include: back row, left, Dr. Brian Welsh of Coleman Professional Services, representing the Coleman Foundation; Thom Craig of the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation; Sue Reeves representing Townhall II; and Dr. Joel Mowrey of the MHRB.
