Poppy Paper

Bubble wrap -- You know you want to pop!

The proper name is bubble wrap, used to protect items during

shipping

  I call it poppy paper

What does it do when you poke it?

      Pop Pop Pop

Do you like to twist it?

Hear the explosion, like a series of tiny gunshots

pop pop pop pop pop pop pop

Popping is excellent for stress relief

This one's for the boss who's giving you so much grief at work

    Pop

This one's for the mailman who messed up delivering an

important package

    Pop

And this one's for the jerk who stole your parking spot at the

mall

    Pop

I like the big ones that take so much work

Here's to the gene that's made my life a disaster

    POP

Here's to the car that sent my mother to trauma ICU

    POP

And here's to the world that couldn't save my brother

     POP

Maybe you pop for the sheer joy of it and giggle with each pop

POP

Maybe you are a compulsive popper

It is there, so you must pop

Maybe you work in the shipping department at Amazon and fear your head will blow up if you hear one more POP

I'm so sorry, sir

  I'm popping and I just can't stop!

I received a huge roll of bubble wrap for graduation from high school back in 1995. I have yet to pop all of it. The company I work for had some product returned and the sender included bubble wrap, both the typical small bubbles and some sheets with the bigger bubbles. I wrapped my nephew's Christmas gifts in the bubble wrap, packed the gifts into a box with more bubble wrap, and wrapped the box. He was more than thrilled.

Bubble wrap, Legos, Play Doh, and big cardboard boxes were some of my grandson's favorite "toys". Maybe I need to buy a couple sheets of bubble wrap as a stress reliever for myself!

I can hear you popping away while I read this - I think a congratulatory pop is in order. Well done!
