The downtown Kent office of the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County is primarily a referral point for people seeking counseling or other health-related services. It refers clients to agencies that provide mental health screening, substance abuse counseling and other services. The agencies it refers clients to are Coleman Professional Services, Townhall II, Children's Advantage and Family and Community Services. It does offer some services directly, such as hosting meetings for a suicide survivors group, overseeing crisis intervention team training for school and law enforcement officials and holding board meetings on the second Monday of each month at 6:30pm.
